T206 background color.

I was thinking about the various colored backgrounds on T206 cards and the impact different colors have on my partiality toward individual cards. Without a doubt I favor the yellow background on the Johnson portrait and the somewhat lighter green color on the Magee portrait, Chesbro and Bender portrait. I also find myself willing to pay a bit more for those colors for some reason gravitating to them and buying additional copies of those cards. Does anyone else feel the same.

Also, I posted a poll as to your favorite color.

I Like the Orange Color

But it is really the red but it was not produced right.

For example there was a T206 Cobb Portrait that sold several months back I believe on Heritage that was the "Red" Cobb but it was really Orange and I thought it just looked really sharp. Plus it made it different from the others

Nothing for the multicolor? That spumoni scheme on the Tom Jones is great, and somebody last week was all about the Cobb bat-off.

If it's only one color, I like the dark blue (Murray/Nattress) over the regular sky blue. And I still don't know why I sold the lavender Dougherty portrait.

This poll seems like its focused mainly on the portraits. My favorite T206 backgrounds have the multi color sunsets with the stadiums present in the distance. Its all about the pastel colors.

Red for me. A nice red Cobb is tough to beat. However, I do agree with Jeff that the orange Cobb is pretty cool too.

Love those Orange Cobbs. Are those still selling for a premium?

My top 3 are Red, Pink and Blue

The reds, especially when you find the deep dark reds, are just stunning. The Chase Pink is iconic, and a number of the blues, again with the nice dark blue are just beautiful. That said, I love all the portraits, which is why I made it my primary collecting focus for T206.

I love the dark greens and chose them for the poll, but this light purple background is my favorite.

The blue background of Plank is my favorite. The orange background of Wagner would be my other choice.

I like the multi-color sunsets myself, as seen on this Leifield card, and thus voted for 'Other'. As far as one color backgrounds, I have always really loved the cards that have different hues, such as seen on the Kling.

I agree with Bill on this one. The Dougherty portrait is my favorite T206 portrait and the color is one of the main reasons.

The Dougherty Portrait I sometimes like and sometimes hate. There's such a range in colors for this card. And not fading like many of the other color variations. The Dougherty can go from a Grey to a Purple. I prefer the deepest Purple possible, but being a back collector, you sometimes get what you get. At least I can find the right shade of Purple on a Piedmont, with some searching.

The Lavender (if that's right) background on Oberlin is phenomenal-
