FS: OBO Artist Ray Boynton portraits / framed x3

3 Attachment(s)
I am selling three portraits by the artist Ray Boynton. Two are oil, and one is pastel. All three are framed, and the two oils are framed similarly as a pair. Asking $600 shipped / each, or $1050 for the pair of oils. All reasonable offers will be considered.

I wrote about Ray Boynton for my US History MA thesis. He was an artist, teacher, and critic in SF before and during the Great Depression. I bought artwork by him and others in his peer group during my research stage. His circle of friends/acquaintances included Maynard Dixon, John Steinbeck, Ralph Stackpole, Bernard Zakheim, and CES Wood. They would hang out at Wood's famous estate "The Cats," in Los Gatos CA. I don't have room to keep all of these works, and I need to move a few pieces. My thesis focused on his work in Spokane, WA before he moved to San Francisco and really made a name for himself. My thesis was in direct response to the biographical gap left by Anthony Lee in his published work, PAINTING ON THE LEFT, which focused on the liberal turn of art in SF during the Great Depression, and the arrival of Diego Rivera. Boynton went to art school in Chicago, moved to Spokane, then moved to SF during the World's Fair in 1915. Many of the post-WWII artists of SF were his pupils at UC Berkeley and the SF Art Institute. You can read more about him on wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Boynton
