Help with old leather football helmet
 

Anyone know anything about these old helmets? I have this listed on ebay but there seems to be tons of interest in it. Found it at an estate sale. I'm inclined to just leave it going, but if it's some particularly rare helmet that might be better served going to an auction house, I would consider it. I'm not a fan of yanking auctions, but I don't want to cost myself money.

I tried to find similar examples but didn't have much luck. Doesn't have a manufacturer's notation anywhere I can see.

I don't see anything rare there. Condition (no chin strap) is not great. What do you mean by "tons of interest"? Seems to be only 3 bids combined on the two helmets.

thanks for the response. It's got a lot of watchers already and people asking me to end the auction early. I'll probably just let it fly. Just don't know much about helmets so I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something important. I appreciate the input.

There are collectors on eBay that always go after leather football helmets and try to get sellers to end early.
What's the most that you've been offered?

People just asking me to do a BIN. Trying to get me to give a price. I'm quite familiar with that game. :)
