Forgotten, but not gone.

Today I was dropping a few cards off at the bank and rediscovered a card I thought I had consigned a while back after upgrading. Definitely a pleasant surprise as I can now sell as I had intended and buy something else.

Has anyone else found a card they didn't realize they still had?

Once came across a box of cards I had completely forgotten I had- they weren't all that valuable. Some 50s and 60s with a few hall of famers, but it brought back some good memories

I find hobby stuff I didn't know I have quite often. And I know I still have some stacks of old hobby pubs that are hiding things I don't know about. It sort of keeps it fun....

I do that all the time, but I think it's because I'm getting old. ;)

Jesse,

Why don't you post what it is you found.

Leon, I agree!
Though I seem to lose more than I find :o

Glad to see I'm not the only one. Fred I did actually, it's the 1960 Topps Mantle listed in the b/s/t.

How about a corollary thread

GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

I own a card that I know I haven't sold, but I have not seen it in a couple of years.

About 9 months ago I was looking for a couple cards, and couldn't find them. The last time I remembered seeing them was when I was getting some other cards I had sold ready to ship. I went through everything looking for them, and finally resigned myself to the fact I had accidentally shipped them with one of the items I shipped. A couple days ago, I found them stuck to the bottom of my Clemente rookie, the top loader just wedged funny under the slab of the Clemente. One was my Red Cross type 1 example, two where Coupon type 1 SLers, the other was my Uncle Jacks example. If I had accidentally shipped them, someone would have had a heck of a great bargain! Huge sigh of relief!

I always 'knew' I had a 1956 Roberto Clemente card laying around, but when I went to dig it out of my stuff a couple of years ago, it actually turned out to be a 1955 Topps, his rookie card. Not in great shape by any means, but still a delicious surprise.

This happens to me all the time when I'm looking for something else. The last thing I found was 12,000 1973 Topps baseball cards. I guess I have too much stuff since I either forgot or misplaced 12,000 cards.
