1939 Centennial Stamps Grover Alexander and Walter Johnson Artwork Demaree Artist
Great pieces measure slightly larger than 9x6 inches not including the matting.
These pieces of originial artwork were originally purchased from the man who commisioned the artwork by Rob Lifson back in the 1970's. They rarely come up for sale. Update...
These were purchased from the man who had originally commissioned them back in 1939. The artwork is actually by former major leaguer Frank Demaree. He also did the artwork for the R304 Demaree die cuts as well as the bodies on the 1938 Goudey Heads Up. So this is an original work by him. Tom C |
