Graded Ruth - legit?

I'm working on picking this one up. Everything look right? The cert checks out and it isn't in a set

rdwyer 09-07-2015 08:37 PM

From what I can see. NO.

Mick 09-07-2015 08:38 PM

It's in a holder? Has the case been split?

Batter67up 09-07-2015 08:42 PM

Where is the picture?

Mick 09-07-2015 08:46 PM

Search Ruth goudy 144 psa 7. There are 2 with the same CERTIFICATION # on eBay right now

Peter_Spaeth 09-07-2015 09:02 PM

High end Ruth Brady Gretzky and Jordan eh? Not bad for a Yugi-Oh seller.

Peter_Spaeth 09-07-2015 09:15 PM

It's gone. Don't tell us you bought it.

Mick 09-07-2015 09:17 PM

The guy with the fake in Hawaii says he just got his reholdered. I think something is missing.

His feedback is hidden, and he also has some amazing items.

Both cards are exactly the same. I reported them both to eBay.

How rampant are these fake cards in psa holders?

Mick 09-07-2015 09:18 PM

Both gone.

Excellent.

Peter_Spaeth 09-07-2015 09:18 PM

Hawaii guy has feedback on lots of big cards. It isn't hidden. Not sure what you are seeing.

It's a little fishy that both of the cards are absolutely identical. Don't you think?

One of them doesn't have the card, just stole a scan. Almost certainly the Yugi-Oh guy. More likely a stolen scan than a fake, but I wouldn't rule anything out. Yugi's was in one of the older 90s holders I don't think they faked those.

Mick 09-07-2015 09:30 PM

The cert numbers are both the same!

Yes, one is in an older holder, probably from an older auction. So Yugi stole the older scan. The card has since been reholdered, as the new guy told you.

Crazy times we live in huh lol. There's no holo on Hawaii guys....

You have to be very careful dealing with people who don't have a reputation if buying an expensive card.

Depends how recently it was holdered. The holo is pretty new. It looks like the new design holder before they started the hologram, to me. But I am not that expert about it, you could be right.

Here is a relatively new holder but no holo.

Leon 09-08-2015 07:29 AM

This is a card I want again, just better centering than this one...

As for this thread, hopefully it helps teach not to buy 5 figure cards (or any card of real value) without doing due diligence....

I think Pete and Leon have nailed it in all respects!
