Vote: Best Topps set of the 1960s
We are wrapping up the vote for the best Topps set of the 1950's in another thread and now need a set to represent the wonderful 1960's. Please cast your vote for the top set of the 1960's using any qualifying factors you see fit. :D

I always liked the '65 set,that's what I picked,but the '62 set is a close 2nd.

1965. Many of the best HOF'er cards of 60's (Mantle, Aaron, Mays, Gibson). The banners/color combos are great.

Another vote for the 65 set. I had a more difficult time with the 50s set but not 60s.
|
'67 for purity of design and photography
I do think the '65-'67 sets are the best three year run in Topps history |
I wonder if all would agree 1961 is the worst!

1967 here as well. I had a feeling it was going to be a match race between 1965 and 1967. Also, as for the worst, have to agree with 1961, but what about 1964 as well? |
I like the '65 set, but for me the '69 set is a close 2nd.

1962 and 1969 are my least favorite, and I don't get the love for the 1967s either, but to each his own. |
This one is quickly turning into a two horse race
|
I like 'em all...
I guess I may be the only one who loves them all, but the '67 is the best (in my view).
|
1967
Your view is correct Mark. Someday you will have to explain it to Todd so he gets it :)
He was at least right about 61 being a good one too |
If you're really keeping track I accidentally voted for 66 instead of 67. My three year old was "helping " me. That means take one 66 away and put in onto 67. Sorry.

Drew-- maybe your little one prefers 66. His vote should matter :)

Oops, sorry about that. FWIW, I think 1991 Leaf is better looking than 1967 Topps too :)

1967 Topps
Just as a side note, I really like the way Donnie put the "1967" set in italics; I'm assuming this is due to him thinking this set should be the clear cut winner :D
|
I voted 67 with 65 a close second. I like the simplicity of the 67 set and it was a challenge to build this set. I still go back and look at the high #s fairly often. I'm sure that is part of why it like it so much.
The pennant design of 65 is pretty darn cool though. Probably my favorite design of the '60 sets. |

I'm going with 1963. I like the inset photos and its a colorful set. The Photos are higher quality and the quality of paper is really good.
After that I go with 1960 and then 1967. |
I went with the 1963 set as well. 1969 has to be my least favorite.
|
Would love to have a few more votes to break this virtual tie. The winner goes up against the 1956 Topps set and the yet to be determined 70s set.
Thanks for voting :-) |
