T206 Back stamp

I was going through my cards last night and found a T206 Livingstone with an interesting purple back stamp that reads "W. A. Holt Co., Kodaks, Sporting Goods, Waco, Texas". Had anyone else here ever seen this stamp before?

Never heard of that one but it seems there is an infinite number of different stamps used on cards for various reasons, many times to advertise.

Board member Andy started a great site that focuses on T206 with back stamps:

Neat; I don't think I've seen that website before. There is a Howard W Dubree for sale here:

Also being forgotten are the many stamped with a datestamp from when they were probably acquired, which are notable since that unknown collector seemed to have a sizable collection, which included many Hall of Famers and the Honus Wagner. And linking those dated cards to Honus Wagner T206 collection may make them more valuable.

And then we also noted the ones that were marked with a stamp from the period game which name now eludes me, but was circular with Toy City or something?

Thanks for the plug Bryan!

Bryan has provided me countless stamps to post on my website to date. Unfortunately life has gotten in the way of it lately and I haven't updated it in a while. Soon though.

I've seen the Dubree stamp before and think I have an example on my sites gallery. The others are new and will be added.

The round stamp from the period board game is the Toy Town stamp. I have one blurry example on my site as well. I believe it is best known for being on some caramel cards and used to (don't know of it still does) bring a premium on those.

Anyway, please visit my project and contribute if you can. I can always use the help finding more stamps to add.

Thanks a lot,

AndyH
