Ot: brooklyn police

Thoughts and prayers for the 2 officers who were murdered today as well as their familys and friends. Horrifying and right before christmas. Lets hope this stops, there are alot of good men and women on the streets tonight, putting themselves in harms way and keeping us safe.

We need better leadership

Very sad to see all of this unfold today. Prayers go out to both familys...

Was a rough tour today....for the first time in my career I questioned if I made the right choice changing my career to LE. I work in Brooklyn BTW.

Correct.

Execution of 2. Know where that guy's going.

Prior lack of support by the mayor. Recent films showing hoards yelling for the murder of cops.

Sickening

My uncle is a cop in Brooklyn as well (works in Bed-Stuy). It is a scary profession, but you 100% made the right decision. New York City needs good cops. What you do on a daily basis makes our lives better. Thank you so much for all that you do. I hope you and your family have a safe and happy holiday season.

This happened pretty darn close to my apartment. Just unbelievable. Thoughts, prayers and love to the families and those effected.

Sometimes, I can't even fathom how people can do things like this. Actually, it's pretty much all the time that I can't fathom it.

Hug your loved ones extra tight today.

I work with NYPD movie and TV unit daily. They come from many different precincts and this could have been anyone in a patrol car. Scary stuff

Thanks to all

Might sounds harsh call a spade a spade, blood is on many people's hand
especially the mayor and two others we all know who they are.

This was a sickening, cowardly, and tragic event. Unfortunately, it's the World we live in today. I don't fear for me, but my two sons who are just starting their lives in this very confused, and bizarre World. I simply don't understand it, and I fear it is only going to get worse....

I share your concern. As an aside, people like Ray Kurzweil who think we are headed for some sort of utopia just because the number of transistors on an integrated circuit doubles every two years (Moore's Law) ought to rethink things, because for all our remarkable advances in science, medicine, and technology, human nature if anything seems to be worsening. End of OT rant.

I would argue that it has always been this way; we just see more evidence of the wickedness of human nature because of advancements in communication.

Maybe Daryl, but on the other hand mass violence (e.g. school shootings) seems significantly on the rise compared to my idyllic (if sheltered) youth.
