Did it get any more prolific than 1910?
I was just looking at a list of sets produced in 1910. Holy smokes, I know what year I would go back to if I had a time machine. :D
Was there a more prolific year for producing sets other than 1910? D322 Tip Top E90-1 E90-2 E92 E93 E96 E103 E97 E98 E99 E100 E104-1 E104-2 E104-3 E105 E125 E271 E222 E286 M116 T3 T206 T209 T210 T212-1 T213-1 T215-1 And a case could be made to include, E92 E101 E102 |
I would go back to 2001 and collect all 187 Albert Pujols rookie cards.

I'd go back one year further, 1909; specifically to Factory 25 in Virginia.

You left out at least E254, P2, PX7 and S74.

I brought this topic up
During the very first SABR Deadball conference in 2002 and if I recall correctly, it was suggested this had to do with some anti-trust laws being blown apart and cumpanies looking for money streams with the increased competition. I'll try to find the reference on line

Three of the four sets I collect we're made in 1910.Plus one if my favorite sets of all time being the E222's.I haven't been lucky enough to pick up an example yet but I agree, what a prolific and significant year in the Prewar Card world.

A bit off topic here, but 1910 was also the peak production year for postcards...the Chicago Post Office was said to have handled over a million postcards per day in that year.

1888 wasn't too bad either; here are a few options from 1888:
E223 M117 N28 N29 N43 N162 N172 N173 N321 N338-1 N338-2 N403 WG1 Police Gazette Cabinets And many other die cuts, scraps, BB currency, and baseball themed cards (Duke Terrors, Presidential BB Club, SF Hess Newsboys, etc.). |

Listed here are the more well-known 1911 issues (I'm sure there are more)

it's close
but when adding in sets that included at least one baseball referenced card in addition to the strictly base ball sets - the 1887/1888 issues might have it.........
