Ok, it's been 3 days since it ended, so I suppose the "smoke" has cleared enough to mention this ebay auction. Any of you guys the lucky winner?

The postcard features the Hutchinson, KS minor league team along with a 17 year old Howard Ellsworth "Smoky Joe" Wood (incorrectly shown as "H A Wood").

I wonder if Clint was in the dustup for that postcard...that's a pretty hefty price for a non-hall of famer minor league postcard.

I'm suspecting Clint was in the middle of it.

You guys were right I was in the middle of it. The middle of the bidding that is. The price completely surprised me as I thought it would go in the $6-700 dollar range and bid about half of that. Dan, I was thinking the same thing that it was pretty high for a non hall of famer. Luckily I have this postcard already and another variation of the team in street clothes.

I knew I'd seen it before and thought it was yours Clint, but I couldn't find it on your photobucket.

Clint, where are you from? I'm originally from Topeka.

Nate, I from the Wichita area. Topeka is putting together a baseball historical society in hopes of capturing photos of programs, photos and other miscellaneous items from there.

Dan, I think it's on there if my memory is right.

Thanks Joe. I think your Astoria card is the best baseball postcard ever made in my opinion.
