A very obvious mistake and one that really shouldn't slip by, especially if it's true that multiple people inspect cards before being encapsulated. Another opportunity for remedial training. It could happen to any of the grading companies....but that's not an excuse.

most of the time these label mistakes are caused by the submitter putting the wrong info in the sub, and the data entry girl going with it. graders have nothing to do with this. looks like the seller don't even know it's an e91 so that may be the case here. plenty of blames can be attributed to psa grading but not in cases like this.

The card may be graded correctly, but labeling it correctly is certainly the grading company's responsibility.

I sent a couple of E91-As to SGC and simply identified them as "American Caramel"... I had no idea what they were, but they labeled them correctly.

Isn't there a PSA slab with T206 Heine Wagner card, but a Honus label floating around somewhere? I think I once saw a pic of it on the PSA boards.

With all the graded cards I have, It always seems to be PSA making the errors. I don't have any SGC's with errors. Now i'm not talking about grading errors but identification errors. Here's a list of a few that I can remember without pulling boxes out.

T206 Kid Elberfeld Portrait New York Sovereign 350 PSA 4 - Flip says Washington.

T206 Joe Lake New York Sweet Caporal 150 F649 PSA 4 - Flip says St Louis No Ball.

T206 Jack White Sovereign 350 PSA 2 - Flip says Doc White Chicago Pitching.

1984 Topps #8 Don Mattingly PSA 8 - Flip says Topps Tiffany

I don't worry too much about the errors since PSA will fix them free of charge but it just seems to be more common with PSA cards.

I did data entry, among many other things at

SGC I made errors. they are out there, they just have better customer service and I think this gets the mistakes fixed more often than at PSA.

It's not always how it's listed on the submission form, this card was clearly
marked Randall on the form.

I just thought of a new way to collect T206's. Build a PSA set with all misidentified flips. Wonder how close to a complete set could be put together. So far i'm 3/524.

I had two mischaracterized T206 poses in my last submission (I'll note it was a 125+ card submission that they received during the hurricane). One was a Chase Throwing Dark Cap identified as Portrait Blue Background. I sent it back in with a submission to be relabeled. The other was this Lajoie (which I sold); note that the issue and player were correct, just not the pose.
