Thought that I would start off the new month with this one.............

I generally only collect baseball (hence the name!) but I couldn't resist picking up this bad boy yesterday! :) (the line on the bottom left is from the case)

This latest addition to my '52 Set, and the first card I've posted here. I'll try to post them a bit more often, and if you all have ones to sell, I'd be interested. I'm building a PSA registry with all cards in the PSA 5-7 range.

About the closest I'll be getting to the '52 Mantle card in the near future, though I hope to have #312 Robinson sooner rather than later...

I'm guessing that '52 Mantle PSA 7 might get a little pricey? lol :)

Boyer Card

I like that Boyer card. Sorry for the dumb question, but never having handled any of those, I see two arms, two legs and base, but what are the two other blobs that appear to be part of the uniform? Do they somehow allow the figure to move?

Volod 07-05-2012 03:22 PM

Oh, OK, I see it now - it's three, not two dimensional - ass and shoulders insert in the slots. yikes.

Al - Funny that Topps ventured into surgical anatomy lessons for ten-year-olds back in the sixties.

Just got a complete 1968 Topps set at a show today (Minus the Nolan Ryan RC and seven commons...2 lows and 5 highs) for 275$!!! Every card is in really nice condition, only a few (maybe 12) would get below a PSA 7. Since I can't really post pics of the whole set I decided to post pics of a few key cards.

ALR-bishop 07-08-2012 04:51 PM

About 95% done this set. Picked up this bad boy last week. Still need the two Mantles, though. Those could be tough.

I don't usually post on the post-war forum, but...

just picked up a low grade Mr. Sandberg to add to my collection...pretty decent "5" in my opinion...

bcbgcbrcb 07-10-2012 06:18 AM

Great pick-up, Derek, that's one of the tougher post-war HOF RC's for sure. I agree with you, the grade seems kind of stringent.

ALR-bishop 07-10-2012 07:03 AM

Sanberg

Maybe it lost a grade because of the background :).

Neat card

$12 at a garage sale, kind of a mix. Anyone in need of 56 or post cereal cards?

sigh.... every time I go to a garage sale that has cards, they have binder after binder of 87 Topps and 90 Donruss for "Low Beckett, cuz they are over 20 years old....."

Now I'm going to have to start reading the classified ads again

ALR-bishop 07-11-2012 10:47 AM

1959 Insert

Curt--nice example of the insert. Now you need one of the pennants :)

These all came in over the last few weeks, nothing special, still on a budget..... :-( Does anyone know what the Spanish card is, it is a recent game card of some sort, on the back it says loosely translated in Spanish (Put the card under a black light and see which fish is the winner)

GasHouseGang 07-11-2012 12:54 PM

Wow Rawn, you kicked some butt at that garage sale. The Post Cereal cards are nice to find and those 56's look to be in really nice shape too. Great find! I have found a few cards at garage sales, but nothing that good.

You think Topps will redeem an expired redemption? haha :)

I wonder if the Spring Training contest cards from the 80's will ever be worth anything??

dstudeba 07-11-2012 03:38 PM

Great postcard Jack!

I could use an example of 1961 post and 1962 Jello and 1963 jello card. Which ones are you selling?

carrigansghost 07-15-2012 08:10 PM

Selling all of them.

Nice cards Rawn and Curt, nice addition to the 59 set. And I agree with Al, grab one of the pennants of your favorite team.

Nice Ford, Phil. Looks better than the grade. Did it complete your set, or still going?
