OT - Posting Photos

Sorry for my technical ignorance, but hoping someone here can help....

I used to post photos here frequently, but have had to stop, because of a Windows 7 issue. In the "old days" you could simply check off the specific photos you wanted to upload. It was a very quick procedure.

But I recently "upgraded" to Windows 7. Now the system wants to automatically upload every single picture that's saved on my camera (over 300 of them). They've taken away the option to simply check off the specific ones you want to upload.

I don't have time to sit through the laborious procedure of uploading hundreds of images each time, and don't want to overload my computer's storage capacaity. Nobody seems to know how to get around this... just wondering if someone here can help.

Someone else must have experienced this nuisance besides me!

Mark, I'm no couputer guru but I have IE7....If a little option box appears when you connect your camera or card.chip to your computer, X it out...then click start then computer..then click the files icon for your camera or card/chip which ever you use...see if that works. -Carlton

an external hard drive with a usb plugin is incredibly cheap these days, even for a tetrabyte or more or storage space. can hold all your pictures and then some.

You really shouldn't save pictures to your camera. If the camera or the memory card dies, then you lose everything. I keep all my pictures in 3 places: 1. On the computer; 2. USB drive; and 3. Photobucket. Nothing is ever lost.

For your issue, try changing the Import Settings. In my computer, right click your device and choose IMPORT (something like that). Then, on the next message box, there will be an Import Settings. That could work.

But if you take the pictures off of the camera, you probably won't have the problem. I upload from Windows 7 all the time and no issues.
