Legendary Auctions Winnings

Anyone win anything tonight? I lost most of the items I bid on but did pick up a mixed group of "t" and "e" cards including a t204 Bender, CJ Rickey and a couple t213 Gandils. Only needed a couple cards out of this one so I'll have plenty left over :)

Nice cards in there - congrats.

I mostly won a bunch of Baseball Magazines for research. Looking forward to tomorrow.

I can sell my tribute card. Anybody need a '50 Callahan O'Rourke?

E93 03-08-2012 12:09 AM

Mark,
Awesome card!!! Congrats.

triwak 03-08-2012 12:18 AM

Fantastic, Mark!!! Nice upgrade!

bcbgcbrcb 03-08-2012 04:56 AM

Great pick-up, Mark! I went after that one early but dropped out pretty quickly as it is obviously not a Rookie.

I really wanted the 1882 Providence cabinet but just got too rich for my blood.........

paul 03-08-2012 10:53 AM

I had a very big night, at least for me. Aside from the mystery Lajoie, which is now under question in another thread, I won:

N300 Ward, 2nd base,
PC796 Walsh
Grab bag of cards that includes D350-3 Standard Biscuits of Stengel and Faber.

Bicem 03-08-2012 11:21 AM

lost out on the ALPC Wagner :(

Nice pickups Mark and Paul!

Jaybird 03-08-2012 11:25 AM

Sorry Jeff. I knew you had your heart set on that one.

I always really admired this one at the Dreier Museum, honored to have something from their collection in mine.

Very cool piece, Anthony. Congrats!

Brian Van Horn 03-08-2012 10:20 PM

I just won the Middy Bread card of Harry Rice and this will be the last Legendary auction for me.

oldjudge 03-08-2012 10:38 PM

I won a few 19th century lots although the one I am most exciited about is the 1887 Giants California tour program. What a great piece, and it means more coming from Chad and Doug's great collection. Now on to Goodwin, Lew Lipset and REA!

Sweet card - I reluctantly dropped out at $3K. Glad it found a good home.

I was happy to pick this up:

On Day 2, picked up 3 of the 4 items that I was after, '03 W601 Giants, '04 W601 Detroit & '26 Zeenut Averill. Underbidder on the '03 W601 Pirates, which I thought went for a very steep price, I kept "overbidding" but had to stop at $2,300 with the juice.

rainier2004 03-09-2012 05:35 AM

Congrats to everyone above with their winnings, especially Brians who I've already "vultured" around for scraps.

I FINALLY landed one...(46) 1915 CJs SGC mostly 20's and 30's for what I wanted to pay and not the overbid I had entered. I know these CJs are nowhere near the top of Legendary's rarity item list, but this gets me to 75% of the set and a few upgrades and downgrades in the lot to boot...I am just sitting here, on my day off, happy as a puppy with some peanut butter waiting for the invoice...

Picked up these two lots. Think I did pretty well. Was under-bidder on the T227s, but just couldn't pull the trigger.

In pouring over ALL of the Spring Auctions (minus REA as I haven't seen what they have yet), I only found one card which I really needed for my sets and was fortunate enough to win it last night (Joss).

Joss might also have the biggest head on any card I've ever seen....

Picked up a Wagner too while I was at it....

and that is one BEAUTIFUL JJ there...some day...some day...

dstudeba 03-09-2012 11:03 AM

Nice Leon, I figured you wouldn't let that one slip by.

Bloody pending business.

sycks22 03-09-2012 11:07 AM

Nice CJ Jackson pick up. That presents very nicely. I love the 30 minute closing rule so you don't have to wait until 5am to see if you won something also.

thenextlevel 03-09-2012 11:24 AM

Thanks guys, I had a deal in place for the one on Ebay, which was the authentic SGC one(unaltered). I got this for less, and I feel much better with a card of this magnitude having an actual grade assigned to it. This card was at the top of my list for a while.

Very very nice 4 you did well .....Putting a set together? Congrats, Marty

Legendary

I lost out on every single lot I was bidding on. I was most impressed with the 43 piece lot of tobacco containers & tins.....it almost made me want to start collecting them! Some good stuff in the auction.

oldjudge 03-10-2012 10:08 PM

I won the lot of 13 Old Judge boxers in the Legendary auction. However, I only needed a few so if the underbidder (or anyone else) is looking to pick up a few of the others please email me at oldjudge@gmail.com

Best--Jay
