T205 Ghost image...

Just picked this up from Joe,

Underprint? half AmL and half Nat'l L in Red ink. Appears to be a Philly cap, just to the R of Dahlen's head. Also, a partial eye just below the brim. Is this Collins partial profile?

Will try to get a larger scan shortly. Thx, Steve

Nice pickup, Steve!

I checked it out and decided to pass per the price. Now that you bought it though, makes me wish I had. Funny how that works, eh?

The pink shifted to the right belongs to the Dahlen though, not another player. Move it to the left edge, just inside the gold border, and it fits properly on the card.

Pink and yellow are layered to make an orange'ish hue. Per my example below, see here for a correct Lobert: http://www.collect-auctions.com/LotI...1025_a_lg.jpeg

Here's another that is similar:

Dagnabbit, not Collins. Terrific analysis... I see it clearly now. Thanks Trae.

Nice cards guys. The dahlen is almost psychedelic.

I have given some time to try to figure out the card that was printed to the LEFT of the sheet by Dahlen. Some clues:
  1. American League because of the diamond shaped art
  2. Fact that the diamond show color and background doesnt, hints to something like a red diamond with a green background.
  3. Style of art with the bat lower than the frame not on the frame
  4. Block type (white?) hat, it's pretty straight on the side
  5. Collar shape (virtical)
  6. Fact that top/right of the hat is very close to the edge of the diamond
With taking this into account my best guess is Murphy. But would like to know what you come up with. John
