Shill bidding on Ebay Baseball

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=290559989903

So this guy will have to pay the insertion fee and the final cost fee when he wins his own ball right?

Why did this even approach $900 real dollars?

Paul,
He's very fortunate. Two ball collectors awoke from a long hibernation and joined ebay within the last 30 days. It's like a harmonic convergence. Sometimes you just have to be in the right place. :D

The third and fourth highest bidders will be receiving a "Second Chance Offer" immediately after the auction ends. I hope they realize what is going on and refuse the "Second Chance Offer."

I can't count the number of times during the past two years that I noticed I was bidding against shills and I'd push it just enough not to win and stick the seller with the "Final Bid Fee."

Baseball

It is impossible to know for certain without seeing it in person, but I believe the ball is a recently made reproduction. I asked the seller for additional images and information, but received no response. The one distant image and inability to return the baseball added to my suspicion.

That ball is a replica, and I assure you boys it won't be paid for by the top 3 or 4 bidders, haha!

I tried, and so did other guys to get it pulled but eBay lacked any action, wonder why. It was up under a different description with more pictures last week, got pulled and the crook of a seller relisted it. Any way we can make sure this seller: bjett (31) gets an ear full?

It sold for 4382.77!!!!!!!

What?!?!?!!?!?!?

If anyone is worried about this ball actually being sold in that auction all they have to do is look at the bidding history....LOL.....

BrandonG,

Are you the owner of Pastime Baseballs? I believe Pastime Baseballs produced this ball. If so, it would be helpful if you could alert this board when you see baseballs produced by Pastime Baseballs offered as authentic.

No I am not, but I like to consider myself somewhat of an expert on vintage baseballs and I could tell right off the bat that this ball wasn't real. It just pissed me off that the guy didn't respond to a couple of my emails. Lol. But in the future if I spot one I'll definitely make a post.

Maybe Coaches Commode bought it and will age it with a "mint"Christy Mathewson autograph on the sweet spot that will sell for $411.00 :D
