Vintage Hockey Sweater

3 Attachment(s)
Hi-
I recently acquired the Horace Partridge CO hockey sweater pictured below. I purchased it from an antique dealer who bought it from the estate of a former police chief in the town of North Brookfield MA. It even came with a modernish reproduction photo of a high school team wearing the sweaters (including the chief) and the date on the back is circa 1925-1930 (I will post a scan of that later).
I have never owned a vintage hockey sweater before. I assume these are less common than baseball jerseys. Please post any that you might have. Or, please post any vintage hockey memorabilia. I don't think we have had a hockey specific thread in awhile.

great pick up

Very cool...nice pick up Alan...great eye appeal....I can only think of one Hockey piece I have, a 1914ish I think, Harvard Hockey team photo.....but no photo of it on hand. Very early on when I first was getting into collecting sports, like 25 years ago, I remeber this very early leather hockey helmet...funny I've never see another since...Saw at the old PMA Antique Collectors Revival show at the San Mateo Fairgrounds....back when the sports stuff was all in one hall..I just remember it was dark brown thick leather and had lots of character....and too expensive for me.....man it was all new to me then!!...I remeber I was buying stuff on one side of the room and selling it on the other...totally a novice, just learning the ropes..I think maybe the guy that had it was named John Iancello (ianchello)...latter on he dropped out of the hobby, even though he had these block sized booths.....then I once saw him years later at a National in Anaheim I think it was.

I have a 1940s leather hockey helmet, but I don't have any photos of it. I will try to take a photo of it later tonight and post it as soon as possible. It's very cool.

That old goalie gear is so cool, they used so much less padding. hard to imagine taking frozen rubber to the face these days, but to those guys it was normal...

Great stuff from everyone and thank you for showing it! Please show any more you might have. Orioles, I have had skates similar to both pairs you show in your picture. Is there anyway to reliably determine if they were used for hockey?
I also am curious if there are any guides to dating hockey sticks. I have a wooden one with the word COLLEGE printed in the blade. It has no manufacturer mark that I can make out. I will try to post a picture of it over the weekend.
