Just a warning

Someone listed a 1915 cracker jack matthewson today for a one day auction but I am pretty sure he doesn't have the card. It was sold recently on eBay to someone with more feedback and when I asked or another picture the person just cropped the eBay one to show just the card.

Here's a link

I think swipernoswiping wants to swipe someone's money.

Here's the same card. He says he is using a new user name because of trouble with his ex but that user name he is using now hasn't been used in 6 months but was used back then one time. Fishy!

His 1981 Cal Ripken is another copy from auction 350402094979 that ended 2 days ago. Seems highly unlikely that he received the card in Maryland yesterday when it was being shipped from California. I suspect all his listings are fraudulent.

the two buyers re different, so i am sure you are right... someone desperate for money.

How would this guy even be able to get the money from this scam? The way ebay and paypal are nowadays, its not like the money is gonna gonna go straight into his account or anything. With an account that has no feedback and a big $$$ purchase like this, paypal would surely hold any funds until the item was delivered and the buyer left positive feedback, so how exactly do these people plan to scam the money? Its just not gonna happen.

This also could bring up another interesting topic. Just how much money is a great ebay account worth? Like with these two auctions for example. PWCC sells the card for $3800, the low FB account sells it for $2700, thats an $1100 difference. You would have to think that PWCC ebay account is worth thousands and thousands. As in, if PWCC retired and ended up letting another new dealer sell from his ebay account.

Actually he didn't say it was because of trouble with his ex.

What he said was . . .

PLEASE BID WITH CONFIDENCE, I CHANGED MY ACCOUNT ON EBAY DUE TO AN EX ISSUE
I'm guessing that he finds being an EX-con is an issue! :D

I contacted the seller of the 1981 Cal Ripken that sold this card on October 16th to see if "swipernoswiping" did in fact have that card to offer up for auction on October 17th? This was the email that I got from Tom last night:

"Swipernoswiping is a thief, of photos, at the least. I mailed the 1981 Cal Ripken Rochester Red Wings card, PSA 10, serial # 05165261 this morning. He does not have that card. Tom Wagner

I contacted ebay about the possible fraud being committed by swipernoswiping with about 5 hours to go in the Mathewson & Ripken auctions and apparently they saw nothing wrong as they let the auction continue.

That was definitely a fraud listing. I contacted the winner of the Mathewson card since he had left feedback for PWCC when the card was sold. He said that it was fraud, he still had the card, and had contacted ebay telling them it was fraud, but with response. Hopefully, the winner of that auction won't be paying.
