Chantilly, VA show...

I'm thinking about attending the Chantilly, VA show at the end of the month! I've never been and hoping to hear some stories about it before i make the decision on going! I live about 8 hours away so it will be a drive!!!

Thanks guys!

Travis

wasted trip

I live about 45 minutes away and I won't waste my time going there. Very little vintage and when you do come across some, the prices can be rather high. Hold off for the National being held in Baltimore this year.

Wow, 8 hours is a haul for a show. This will be my first time attending this show as well and I live about 45 minutes away. Would also love to hear from others about this show. How does it compare to the Philly show?

I'll be there

I will be set up with Dan McKee, buying, selling and taking consignments for the Fall 2010 Brockelman & Luckey Auction.

Please stop by to look, chat or talk consigning.

Travis - I agree with Jim, save your long trip for the National in Baltimore.

Frank - The Chantilly Show does not have as much vintage cards and memorabilia as the Philly Show, which is why I drove up to the Philly Show and back yesterday in the heavy rain and wind (even though I live only 10 minutes from the Chantilly Show). That said, I encourage you to attend the Chantilly Show, especially as you are so close, as there is a reasonable amount of vintage. FYI, at the Chantilly Shows during 2009, I acquired a N403 Yum Yum Tobacco, an E222 A.W.H. Caramel, and a T217 Mono Cigs among other cards for my collection; and I didn't see any N403s or E222s at the Philly Shows in 2009. And, I know that Dan M. & Scott B. will bring some great vintage items to Chantilly.

Jim - Thanks for not wasting your time going to the Chantilly Shows and possibly competing with me for these scarce vintage cards!! :)

SGC will be at this show

Just a reminder for anyone that may not have seen it on our show schedule, SGC will be set up and accepting submissions in Chantilly for the first time in several years, if not longer. We're hopeful that the collectors in the VA, DC, and surrounding areas will come out to support us at this show and hopefully make it a permanent stop on our schedule.

If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to call or email me.

Thank you,

Brian Dwyer

I agree there is not the quality of vintage material, but go to the Chantilly show to meet-up with fellow collectors.

If you're going on the Friday of the show, stop by Sichuan Village restaurant at 14005 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway before the show & join us for lunch. :D

I'm planning on attending the lunch and show on Friday. However, my work schedule will dictate if I can leave early or not.
