1913 Cravats - The Full Set

1 Attachment(s)
I wanted to publicly thank Taylor (tschock) for being willing to part with his Cravats piece. It was received about a week ago and the set is now complete...at least until any further uncataloged examples surface

This was a project 20+ years in the making and I still cannot believe it is done.
These things are extremely obscure. There aren't more than a handful of each player and several players only have one known example, including the Joe Jackson. If these were cards instead of ugly pennants, a set would almost certainly be impossible. So to all of you collectors of obscure oddball sets...keep at it ;)

Chris

Here is the rest of the set, although they look my prettier on Old Cardboard's site: http://www.oldcardboard.com/o/b/cravats/cravats-gal.asp

awesome!!! Congrats on finishing the set! Now what?

Congrats! That's quite a piece you got from Taylor! Think I like the sewn version better than the individual pennants. Very cool. Although I kind of wished you hadn't shown this ... because now I have the thought ... hey, it would be neat to collect those ... maybe I should start the set!

Cheers,
Patrick

Very nice, congrats Chris!

BTW, looks like a handful of the pennants share photos used in the sepia-toned M101-2 set.

outstanding! what a great set!

Thanks for all the kind comments! The Cravats probably are my all-time favorite set; almost certainly because they are so unusual and obscure. I am also hoping information on their origin will someday surface. All we really know at this point is the year.

Chris,

Thanks for the nice shout out. And sharing your now 'complete' collection. I was glad to to (finally) part with since I could send them where they truly belonged.

But is the set really complete without the all color variations? :D
