I presume it is largely because the one sold on ebay was trimmed on the top and bottom. I'm sure the extra publicity of her card being on Leno and having Memory Lane hype it up didn't hurt either. Simply economics says that limited supply + higher demand = higher price. The higher demand was created by the publicity. Another thing is that some buyers of high end vintage cards do not consider ebay as a credible marketplace on which to buy the cards due to the higher potential for fraud. That said, if I bought a card for $22,705 and sold it for $30,100 eight months later, I don't think I would be doing a lot of complaining. Just my $0.02.
