What will be the value of tainted slabs moving forward?

What are your personal predictions on the values
of graded cards on the BO suspect list?

10%, Half, 100%, >100%? (just examples)

Also, what will open disclosure of the alteration do
to the value of a piece with a numerical grade?

Since it looks like the doctors didnt achieve a higher grade, or exponentially higher prices, any card sold by pwcc is suspect. I've been researching cards through vcp before buying, and staying away from any pwcc previous sales. Others see it as a buying opportunity.

I'd love to see VCP remove PWCC sales from it's equation entirely. It still wouldn't undo the outsized impact they have had on pricing as other companies sales have increased due to PWCC, but it would help bring prices to a slightly less manipulated reality.

I'll say 15-25% of properly graded cards, since in most cases these 5-9s would be valued as PSA 2-3 in Altered slabs.

That’s a very interesting question. I have a feeling that 1952 Musial PSA 10 would still sell for incredible dollars even though the hobby now knows it’s tainted.

Why? It sold for a nice $3k as the top graded card at the time. 1/8th of its PSA 10 sale. You think anyone is going to pay the PSA 9 price for it when it counts as a 1 for a registry set?

FWIW I will pay the 9 price for the card in the 10 holder. I’m
sure I don’t represent a minority.

The card by itself (raw or auth-altered) or the card still in a 10 holder?

In the 10 holder. I’m sure even if you ran it at .99 auction on
eBay with “Trimmed” in the title, it will surpass the 3k mark
by a wide margin.

I think you are in the majority also for 2 main reasons.

1) The fine people that make a living selling cards will purchase cards up very quickly for inventory with even a slight drop in prices to resell at current prices. Money is made buying, not selling.:)

2) Collectors themselves will also quickly buy up cards with even a slight price drop. Mainly to try to keep the value in their own cards(collection). I know several people including myself have bought cards just because we don't want rare/high grade cards we have in our collection selling too cheap.

Then we have previous proof how absolutely stupid we are as a whole. Masto straight up stated most cards graded are altered and that did nothing to the prices.

+1...Absolutely, because all of this stuff in 2 or 3 years will die down, and Brent will stay laugh his ass off going to the bank....You can then put the PSA 10 at Major AH and exclaim over your profit.....

It will never get sold in the 10 holder, so your idea is ridiculous. If you loved it so much at $3k, why didnt you buy it when it was a 9?

Ha. PSA already scratched it from the pop report. Nice. Guess
I’m late to the party on that one.
