How Are Grading Cos. Going to Survive?

How Are Grading Cos. Going to Survive?

Posted By: Jerry Hrechka
SGC has CGC to grade comics. The only semi-reputable competition CGC has is PGX. PSA currently does not grade comics. I can see CU adding comic grading to their list of grading services, creating a Comic Registry, and enhancing their revenue stream (PCA maybe?).
There is an interesting thread in the CU NonSports forum about an individual contemplating a grading service for Vinyl 45RPM records and cover sleeves. I could see that idea taking off. So IMHO there are many other collectibles that could be graded, which should keep the grading cos. in business for a long time.
Collectors Universe (PSA) currently grades: Cards, Coins, Stamps, Autographs, Currency & Diamonds.
Collectors Society (SGC) currently grades: Cards, Coins, Comics & Currency.
Don't know if GAI grades anything other than cards.
