Exhibit Card Questions

I picked up a few Exhibit cards at a show yesterday and I really like them. I was thinking of adding a few more, but I have some questions about authenticity. As I understand it a lot of exhibit cards have been reprinted, and just from looking at them online, I'm having a hard time telling the difference. I read an old thread regarding this a while back that talked about the differences of the back color being a give away, but most of the cards that I see for sale/auction online don't have scans of the back. Are there any other ways to tell? Another question that I have is are there certain cards that we reprinted or have they all been? Are there any sets that are easy to put together, and on the other hand, are there any sets that are extremely difficult and why? How easy are they to find in EX or so condition compared to other vintage issues? Thanks and feel free to answer any questions that I forgot to ask.

i'm no expert on these but wanted to join you in your appreciation of them.
i had zero before last week and usually buy ONE card, as a type collector,
but found the most kind and astute Tony O with 19 HOFers for sale as a lot and couldn't pass them up.
I'm having 14 of my favs framed together so i can see the beauties in the office and also so they will somehow magically become ONE card and keep me somewhat loyal to my ONE card type collecting. The other 5 have already become a gift to another.
Once again, i join you in your appreciation of the various exhibits and defer now to those much more expert in this arena than I.
best,
barry

Exhibits

Here is another post Scott (SMtJoy) started:

He is one of the most knowledgeable Exhibit collectors I've run into. In summary, in this post he indicates here is a list of the Exhibits that were reprinted:

OK here is the list of reprinted exhibits-

Dark Grey-

Aaron
Berra (Yogi version)
Campanella
Ford (pitching version)
Fox
Hodges (B on Cap)
Mantle (No White outline version)
Mays (Batting)
Musial (Kneeling)
Newcombe (Dodgers on Jacket)
Reese (ball visable version)
Snider (B on Cap)
Spahn (B on Cap)
Williams (#9 not showing)

White cardstock, all of the above plus-
1956 Dodgers
1956 Yankees

In my experience, you really need a scan of the back to detect reprints. If the auctions don't have scans of the backs (or won't send them), I pass on the auctions. When I have compared reprints to an original looking at the front only, I could tell the differences based on print resolution. However, it was very difficult and don't think I could have done it if I did not have it in my hand.
