It's hard for me to even say that my favs are Jeff's Crawford ready for the ball, Jim's Maranville Day and Bosox arriving, Brad's lefty grove - because they're all really interesting, tougher cards. Great thread.
Btw- Steve - who are the players with the auto? Here's a few of mine...... 1. The back tells us the picture was taken July 4th 1914 in Arnegard, North Dakota. Town founded in 1913. Population in the 2010 census, 115. 2. I never took the time to research this one. AZO and Undivided back. Maybe taken abroad on an Army base during WWI? 3/4. I think this is the only card in the Red Belt series that I have seen produced in a different way. (jimmy Collins sliding) 5. Hilltop Park. A Thaddeus Wilkerson card. A toughie. He took photos of NYC and privately produced into PC's. I live a couple miles away from where the Highlanders used to play and every so often take a walk around where the field was and reminisce. Hope you enjoy. Really great cards guys. |
Great postcards!
Here's my lone example. Back to back to back 20 game winner Frank Owen on the hill for the first pitch ever thrown at Swayne field while a member of the Toledo Mudhens. I'm pretty sure somewhere in the infield is HOFer Joe McCarthy who spent the 1909 season with Toledo. http://s107.photobucket.com/albums/m...ToledoRPPC.jpg |
