Worth cracking to Re-submit?

I wouldn't crack

and resubmit. You might be successful in review to 4.5, but I think the angle cut and the lower right hand corner would make a 5 pretty tough.

Looks much higher than a 4 to me.

It's PSA. Chances are it will be a 6. It's your gamble to crack or not

I'm going to go the other direction with this. Due to the cut on both the top and bottom I think your risking having the card returned as authentic if cracked.
Psa is so inconsistent, it really wouldn't surprise me. Re-submit in it's current slab. Your rolling the dice if you don't. Just my two cents.

I agree with Tony. Angle cut and registration make it risky. I don't think it is trimmed based on parallel cuts on top and bottom, but the top edge looks suspect enough to make me not want to crack it.

I'm with Tony. I'd leave it in the holder if you resubmit, otherwise you might get it back as "authentic". All of the TPG are hit and miss on grading these odd cut cards.

Here's another angle, no pun intended -- I've unscientifically noticed that SGC is more forgiving of diamond or angle cuts and "near" miscuts than PSA with re to the T206s. With the sharp corners, even registration, and strong R-L centering of your card, you might be more likely to get a bump from SGC rather than resubmitting it to PSA. Personally, I doubt PSA would regrade the card if resubmitted in the holder -- that'd be admitting their mistake in the first place.
Just remember to enjoy the card, not the holder.

I agree with Tony, Jim and David on this one.

No, don't crack and resubmit. Keep as is then eventually sell; or crack and keep.

Matthew H 05-13-2012 05:52 PM

If I were you I'd keep it in the holder... But, since I'm me, I would have cracked it out the day I got it :)

Psa 4

My experience is that PSA is stingy on grading reviews. Less than 1 in 5 gets bumped up 1/2 a grade. It may even be 1 in 10. So the odds are against you.

I would guess 5MC.

+1. The crack and resubmit game is a losing venture in the long run.
