Has any members seen this??? Is this a One of a Kind?

Friend discovered this in a garment district warehouse in New York City this weekend while cleaning. The owner didn't know much about it. Friend called me and let me take it home to research. Through my photo research on google image, I found the exact photo #3 attached photo of Ty Cobb sliding into home plate with the description posted below.

Broadside/poster size 16 1/2" x 20 1/2" pulled from book of fabrics for display at retail stores throughout chicago. The cubs just won the 1908 World Series. Last time the chicago won the world series until 2016. Star Brand cashing in on the Cubs Winning the World Series shows the Durability of their custom made materials through these action World Series photos.

It's a page from a trade catalog for the Star Tailoring Company Chicago. The catalog was very large. It's not one of a kind because I used to own the entire catalog, but do not any longer - but probably quite scarce. It's NOT a broadside as the page was not meant to be removed for display. If I recall it was a salesman sample catalog with thick card stock pages mounted on a linen hinge.

Thank you Joe.
I will use that information and pass it onto my friend. He's looking for me to sell this for him but i don't know how to price it. Do you recall what you got for yours? Thanks again for your info....Mike

I gave it to a close friend who collected fashion. She was interested in as a fashion catalog, not for baseball.

I can't imagine it would be very valuable. Just my 2 cents.

And probably listed as being used by the white sox to pick out their uniform style.

Fashion Plate Backs

As stated above, this photo came from the reverse of a fashion plate that was part of a book put out by a clothing or fabric company in the early 20th Century
to promote their product to retailers. There were many subjects included in these other than baseball. They do have some value depending on subject matter, condition, etc. I've seen these go for anywhere from $25 to $300. I would say the value of your plate would be on the lower end of that range. Here is a picture of one I own which I had framed.

Wow. So many mistakes/fabrications in that listing. It's a page from a magazine and not a poster to begin with. Just shaking my head, but I guess given the history of this seller, it's not really a surprise.

Your offer of $7.00 was declined.
You still have time to make another offer.
You can also buy it now.

Leon,

You could have at least gone to $8.27. It is mounted. That has to merit a higher bit.

I think he could be a member of the douche canoe hall of fame. Or at least on the nomination list for this year.

How about 8? 8 dollars.

Reminds me of the auction scene in North by Northwest.
