T206 Variation

Posted By: ephuspitch
I have a nice example of the Shappe, Newark T206 card. I understand it's a variation of the Sharpe card ... just a minor printing error... but still, these cards are scarce, right?

In the price guides I've seen, no mention has been made of the Shappe variation, but it would seem to me that this card should be worth a premium.

Any thoughts on this card? Has anyone bought or sold one?

T206 Variation

T206 Variation

Posted By: fkw707
The Shappe card is listed in the "2001 SCD Catalog" at $850 NRMT (page 441), just letting you know. I believe it is a far more fair value, than say the Sweeney "No B" $9000 NRMT, or the Nodgrass cards $6500 NRMT. The Sweeney is just missing the red ink, and I have seen at least 3 other Boston players without the red ink, and even owned a Speaker without the red ink,... The Sweeney is way over valued, just like the Nodgrass cards in my opinion! Frank
