T-205-a-palooza

So, I was chatting with a collector not on this board who was questioning my knowledge of T205s. He asked how I had so much info. on them. I told him I have been collecting them for 20 years, put two sets together, and for the last 2 or so years have been buying them on and off. I mentioned that I had probably close to 2000 of them (with the 2 sets included). He immediately called B.S. on me and asked me to prove it. I told him I just scanned three of my pages of my duplicate notebook that I filled from the show last weekend...he laughed and said, 27 cards is not 2000...

he apologized when I sent the following scans...figured I would show them here too just for fun...

Just for the sake of accuracy, I'd like to see the 4000 front/back scans, just kidding :D Nice post!

Nicely done. Way to say fuck off in a classy way.

Josh,
Your help was invaluable while I was putting together my set. I've been out of the loop lately, but between you and the Engles, I couldn't imagine any more educated collectors as guides. Thanks, ya'll.

Cool

Now that is cool!

judsonhamlin 05-10-2014 09:44 PM

Very cool! What's the deal with the top row middle Bridwell? The gold border loos crenellated.

Wite3 05-10-2014 10:43 PM

As best I can tell, it looks like someone either ran it through a sewing machine or ran some kind of tool along the border...It is the only one I have ever seen like that too and I was sure I would see another at some point.

Very Cool. Let's see some more!

Nice display Josh. Do any of those Millers have the D over B? It's just a D with the mark through the center?

LuckyLarry 05-11-2014 05:07 PM

And I have seen this collection with my own two eyes!

Andrew,
I am sure I have one like that but it might be residing in my set binder...not sure about the others...probably just a mix of b's and d's...will check next time it is out of the safe.

Larry,
It has grown since you were here! Added a few hundred cards since you saw it last.

BTW, to answer a PM'ed question...I am just one away from completing pages of Doyle, Titus, and Phelps, and if I recall just a couple or three away from Ames, Payne, and Olmstead.

I am a relatively new t205 collector, and I am intrigued by the rare backs. Do you have multiple copies of Hindu/Drum? If so, how did you find them?

Wite3 05-12-2014 11:21 PM

Ben,
I own one drum back and two hindu backs...I found the drum in a major auction about 4 years ago. One hindu was on ebay, one hindu was at a show. Both were pure luck. They are exceedingly rare. I know several advanced collectors who still do not own t205 drums or hindus. Good luck,

Joshua

Joshua,

You are without a doubt the most knowledgeable collector of T205's in the industry. Nicely done.

I am still amazed at the level of detail and inventory you have. Remember don't let all the "Gold Border" secrets out until you write your book.

Thanks,
Matt E.
