And some change!

philliesfan 03-26-2024 09:03 PM

Jackson
Cobb
Malone

Gorditadogg 03-26-2024 09:04 PM

I am not part of the PSA registry, so . . .

I would take the Jackson, and keep $3k in my pocket.

P.S. How did that card get a 10 with that centering??

jcmtiger 03-26-2024 09:12 PM

Cobb of course for me

Exhibitman 03-26-2024 09:46 PM

None of the above.

ValKehl 03-26-2024 09:47 PM

The G-J Joe Jax because I like scarce ad-back cards.

It's no worse than 60/40 so fits the criteria for a 10.

robw1959 03-26-2024 10:20 PM

Ty Cobb for me. Joe was great until he took the bribe.

Peter_Spaeth 03-26-2024 10:39 PM

Somewhere along the way, the flip became the commodity.

Fred 03-26-2024 11:15 PM

Is that a trick question?

For $26,395 dollars or so less, I would be willing to settle for this example,

Attachment 615885

especially because this is not Moses, but Jeff. I would be willing to spend $25,000+ more for a comparable condition 1986 Fleer Moses Malone, like the one shown below.

Brian (I just disabled my Net54 PM)

You can get '86 fleer psa 8s and 9s that look like 10s for $25,000+ less. I would have to be severely concussed to pick Malone.

Cobb. I love that pic of him.

BTW - at least one of those Cobb post cards has an advertisement back and is a 1912 - see post mark in the attached (Nov. 25, 1912, 9am)

jetsetr1 03-27-2024 01:45 AM

Jackson
Cobb

…. a million other cards

Malone

Casey2296 03-27-2024 02:35 AM

Cobb for me

sb1 03-27-2024 04:40 AM

Cobb for sure. And not even biased as a friend bought it :) and he is very happy to have won it!

Rich Klein 03-27-2024 05:10 AM

Cobb

Jackson

Malone.

I will also say that if the Malone was Karl in a PSA 10 I'd have to seriously think about moving that higher in these rankings. For those who don't follow modern cards, the 86-7 Fleer Karl Malone is a true rookie cards from a very important main stream set.

The VCP average for a PSA 9 Jeff Malone is $181.09.

That 10 flip is worth 146x more than a 9 flip.

Oh and by the way, you can almost buy two PSA 9 Jordans for that price.

obcbobd 03-27-2024 05:57 AM

Jackson
Cobb
Malone, wouldn't pay $1 for

TUM301 03-27-2024 06:10 AM

Jackson, Cobb.

pitburgfan 03-27-2024 07:22 AM

If I'm not paying, I would take the Jackson.

They should start grading flips. They are more important than the cards to many.

As to the question. Silly question :). 99.9% of this forum wouldn't take the new card.
.

fkm_bky 03-27-2024 08:05 AM

Jackson

then

Cobb

That's all...

Bill

oldjudge 03-27-2024 08:06 AM

It all depends on what you collect. In this forum most would take the Jackson or the Cobb. On a PSA basketball forum most might take the '86 Malone. I don't really collect Cobb, Jackson ad backs, especially with scarlet letters, or men's basketball so I'll take a 4th choice--the cash.

TMKenKen 03-27-2024 08:14 AM

Jackson
Cobb

That order, that's it.

BearBailey 03-27-2024 08:44 AM

Cobb.

calvindog 03-27-2024 08:47 AM

Not everyone buys cards due to their love of the cards -- some buy for investment purposes only. I own Philip Morris stock, now known as Altria, after a name change. I don't smoke but I am all for solid investments, and the stock has done really well for me. The buyer of a Jeff Malone PSA 10 card may very well be in the same boat as I am with Altria. It's somewhat pukeworthy to me as I collect for love of the cards only, but maybe he's just buying what he sees as a potentially good investment? And he feels in his investment horizon the Malone will do better than the other two cards.

For the most part, that's the only way any sane person could rationalize spending that kind of money on the Malone card ahead of the Cobb or Jackson above. Unless he's a Registry guy and then it's sad, because who the hell wants to spend that much money on a common for their registry?

Edited to add: I already own two of those Cobbs, so I'd take the Jackson first. Possibly.

perezfan 03-27-2024 10:07 AM

Sad that they’re not even buying a card… they are buying some random guy’s opinion on a given day.

They’re buying a liquid commodity and selling it as such.

glchen 03-27-2024 02:28 PM

I'd take the Cobb. I've always been a fan of that card although I've never owned one.

LEHR 03-27-2024 03:00 PM

Between those three I'll just keep the $26k.
