Hobby terms that you love

Might as well see what this wrinkle brings...

I love the term “beater”. It speaks to me.

ronniehatesjazz 02-26-2018 10:43 PM

My personal favorite is "paying strong."

BeanTown 02-26-2018 10:50 PM

"It's too rare for it's own good" and "It has a low POP of____"

Sterling Sports Auctions 02-26-2018 11:08 PM

Sterling :-)

drcy 02-26-2018 11:42 PM

Devil's coaster. The name I gave to an especially beat up 1933 Goudey.

The hourglass Ruth?

I have always liked " pack fresh".

Aquarian Sports Cards 02-27-2018 04:23 AM

Anticipating a shorter thread. That probably says something about society.

EvilKing00 02-27-2018 04:43 AM

Buy the card not the holder

Pat R 02-27-2018 04:53 AM

A good write up in plain English and not salesman fluff. A lot less catchphrases and hyperbole.

sycks22 02-27-2018 05:54 AM

I love the smell of a brand new REA magazine twice a year

rainier2004 02-27-2018 06:06 AM

I shipped your card today...

MVSNYC 02-27-2018 06:10 AM

“You are the current high bidder.”

Hey, someday I will re-post that slimmed up Babe...he definitely has my heart.

Brian

brianp-beme 02-27-2018 06:40 AM

I still like the term 'rounded corners'. To me it always meant the possibility of a cool card at a reasonable price.

Usually when I hear that, they ARE NOT the strongest payer...lol...good one though.

ALR-bishop 02-27-2018 06:49 AM

Your cart is empty but it doesn't have to be.

On second thought I should put that in the other thread.

sterlingfox 02-27-2018 07:09 AM

Here's a few:

"Your offer has been accepted"
"You won! Pay now to receive..."
"ORDER SHIPPED"

ksfarmboy 02-27-2018 07:13 AM

New pickup.

Yes and for me that is usually followed closely by "You have been outbid. Follow the link to bid again."

jhs5120 02-27-2018 07:57 AM

Oddball and Grab bag

mechanicalman 02-27-2018 07:57 AM

"Centered," especially when, in fact, it is.

KMayUSA6060 02-27-2018 09:09 AM

"Happy Birthday! Here's a free pre-war card." :D

Happy Birthday could be replaced with a holiday ("Merry Christmas!") or really any type of celebration.

Disclaimer: I don't know if I've ever heard this term.

Those plus
weird miscut
severe diamond cut
missing ink
extra ink
DDIE/print offset
error
so OC that part of another card is showing
custom superfractor/refractor

Pretty much anything that describes the card as not being a normal boring card.:D
