My Health

As many of you know I have been ill
I wanted to set the record straight for my friends and fellow hobbyists

I have lymphoma
It is Non Hodgkins Type B
I got it about a year ago
Quietly I went into chemo and quickly went into remission

Just as quietly it returned about 4 months ago
I have been having more aggressive chemo over the last few months
In a couple of weeks I go for the final step, a bone marrow transplant which will hopefully lick it for good

My attitude is good
My expectations are hopeful
Most of all I want to a thank you all for your support and kind words

Lelands has not missed a beat with me at diminished capacity
This year will be our best in over a decade (ironically)
Mike Heffner has had a banner year and is doing some of the biggest deals of his career
He has taken the step forward I always knew he could and would
Sharon and Laura have further filled the void with their loyalty, hard work and professionalism
I feel blessed

I work every day, I feel good
My mom has been taking very good care of me
I will be fine
If not, I will still be fine

All my best
Josh Evans

My Health

Good luck to you and best wishes during treatment.

As I write this I sit in a chemo haze myself after recieving my final dose of folfox yesterday ( I actually still have a waist pump on right now till tomorrow). Since April 14 of this year I was laid off of my job of 15 years and recieved a diagnosis of stage III colon cancer seven days later. I have to admit I may not have always been positive during the past months, but my loving wife and 10 year-old son have given me more than enough reason to fight and stay positive more than I ever thought I could. Kudos to you for keeping the faith. Now, I see hopefully the light at the end of the tunnel, slightly lighter for having to give up my entire large intestine to this issue, and having to relearn a lot of what I have taken for granted. In three weeks I will get the latest MRI, and am positive I have this thing beat for now, and am looking forward to reclaiming my life. (and returning to the working world so I can restart my collecting full force again. :) )

As I know the survivors all know, this thing can be fought. Good luck.

I will keep you in my prayers.

Modern medicine and the human will can accomplish amazing things.

Get Well Soon

Josh:

I was diagnosed with an advanced version (stage 4) of the same type of NHL on New Years Eve 2003. I went through the most aggressive treatment possible and thanks to the treatment, exercise, diet and last but not least, God's answer to prayers, I have been in remission since. Though it is true that some are not as fortunate as I, I share this to remind you what is possible and with the hope that it helps you to remain positive and keep the faith. I would be happy to share my experience and learnings with you if at any time that may be helpful to you.

Though coming from a Yankee fan, remember what Jon Lester has achieved following his fight with a different form of NHL.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless.

Josh,
My brother was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma about 14 years ago. He went through several stages of treatment but after the bone marrow transplant he has been in good health for the past 7 years. Stay positive. You will beat it. Best Wishes.

Best wishes Josh....

Having just returned from a visit to my hometown for this first time in 2 years and having met with two close friends, both of whom are fit and otherwise healthy, and under the age of 45, and both dealing with cancer and subsequent treatments - I am reminded that life is precious and worth fighting for and no matter what cards you are dealt there is someone with a worse hand.

Best wishes Josh as you fight this and win.

Chris

Josh, good luck to you in your battle. I hope that all the good treatment and decency you showed to your customers and bidders over the years comes back to you tenfold during this difficult time.
