'41 Goudey question

Posted By: leon
I am about to purchase a "type" that I need of a '41 Goudey card. Does anyone have an idea what the scarecest background color to find is? Obscure question from obscure collector.....best regards....

'41 Goudey question

Posted By: Brian Wentz
Leon,

Each of the 33 different 1941 Goudey Baseball Cards can be found in equal quantities of the four colors (Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow). However, Red and Blue are by far the most difficult colors to find in high grade (Near Mint or better). Keep in mind that this issue probably has the greatest size variation among all gum cards. It is not at all unusual to find singles that are grossly oversized or undersized. Finally, similar to N172s, this issue is nearly always characterized by a rough cut on all of the edges. Smooth edges are generally a sign of trimming.

Posted By: leon
Hey Brian,
Glad to see you made it over to the board. I appreciate your response and knew I could count on one of the expert readers for help. I have seen the ones that ya'll have for sale and they are just a little too high grade (awesome) for my pocketbook right now. best regards....
