Does This T206 Look Trimmed?
2 Attachment(s)
Just getting some opinions...
thanks in advance.. |
Slight diamond cut, I think it's good unless they sliced a tiny bit off both the top and bottom border. The top being slightly shorter on the upper right edge and slightly longer on the bottom right edge.
|
I think trimmed
|
Nope...
|
Looks good to me from this vantage point
|
I'd also say slight diamond and not trimmed.
|
My untrained four eyes say the card has been on a slight diet.
Leon, do you know if the card is trimmed or not and you are checking our eyesight? |
no

I say no, but admittedly I'm not very good at detecting those "micro trimmed" cards.
The only time I can say for sure a card is trimmed is if it's super obvious. Like this one....I'm PRETTY SURE this card is trimmed: Attachment 516103 |

Looks untrimmed to me...I have seen a lot of T206 that have a cut similar to this card.

The fraying and pressing in the corners looks natural, thus hard to replicate if a trimmed edge. But could only truly tell for sure if overlay another authentic/unaltered T206 under or on top.
|
I think the bottom edge in the pictures is tricking the eye, because if you look at it close you can see the card is slightly curled, causing the eye-deceiving shadow.

I think it looks fine.

I busted out a couple 3s from SGC holders and subbed to PSA, and they came back... N1 – Evid Trim.
By my eye – and some dude in Florida thought the same thing years prior – the corners were natural, there was no excess chipping, the size was within tolerance, the edges weren't wavy, and the beveling was present. Is there some new way of analyzing the edges that we don't know about? |

For what it is worth, it looks original and not trimmed to me. |

Along the top border and the right border you can see the tell tale rolling of the paper due to cutting. A lot of people miss this unique characteristic of T cards and how they were cut. I am sure there are some experts in this area that will chime in so hopefully I did them proud with my explanation. :)

Yes and no. Not really new as much as it is a lost art. Looking at the edges can show either the typical pulling and cutting of the paper, which pulls paper fibers out of the edges leaving microscopic voids, found with prewar cards. Or you see the precise cut with a solid edge and none of that fiber pull out. Those are the ones I am wary of. We did not cut cards that way in the 1900's. |

To me it looks good but I am not an expert so do not count my uneducated (but trying to learn) experience |

Yes
Bottom edge looks trimmed to me. More obvious on left side where you can see the “paper pull”
|
My vote is not trimmed...Card looks good to me
|
I also think it's okay... just a slight diamond cut.
|
Not at all. No.

If you're asking if some TPG will say it's trimmed, that's a crapshoot.
I think the card is fine; not trimmed. If you sell that card to someone who eventually thinks it's trimmed, let them know that I'll buy T206's trimmed like that. |
