Minor League Jersey Help

2 Attachment(s)
Recently, I won this jersey from a very reputable eBay seller. In his description he stated it was a 1968 Indians jersey, but amended his description to state someone informed him that this had to be a minor league uniform only.

Only problem is, I did not see the amendment until I had won. Seller and I have spoken and we have worked out an arrangement.

This jersey is said to have belonged to the Waterbury Indians during 1968...

So, any idea who could have worn this jersey?

Thanks in advance
Travis

Confused.

Not sure why anyone would think this was either a MLB Indians jersey or a minor league "Indians" jersey as it clearly has "Chiefs" below the patch.

Hartford Chiefs? Of course they were only around from 1946 -1952 until they were recently revived.

Only two other minor league Chiefs I could find were Peoria, but that seems like a Fireman's Chief reference and Peoria which seems like a train reference judging by their logos. I'm sure more could be found, this was just a two minute search taking a break from loading my truck!

There is also the Peoria Chiefs in the Three I league from 1953-1957 which was a farm club of the Indians. (as Scott said the new Peoria Chiefs are a fireman's chief reference) and the Lincoln Chiefs in the Western and Three-I league from 53-61. I have seen most of the Lincoln Chiefs home jerseys from that era and they used a script Chiefs on their jerseys.

Got Peoria, but missed Lincoln. Gonna go out on a limb and assume Lincoln is Nebraska and that you don't think it's theirs?

Definitely not Lincoln. Does not appear to be Syracuse either. Not sure what it is.

Any chance it would be college? Oklahoma City U, U Mass, and Springfield Colllege were all called the Chiefs.
