2011 Topps Update Diamond Anniversary Mike Trout PSA 10 AUTO 10

The base update PSA 10/10 has been selling for 4-5k. So is this one worth 16-20k+?

I checked PSA and there are only 6 with this grade, compared to 33 for the base version.

Yes, these didn't come autographed. That's why there is no clouded section for the auto, no Topps Certified stamp, and it's PSA/DNA certified.

Also, has the MLB certified hologram on the back of the card.

Then I'm not a fan of it getting a PSA 10. Card has been altered with a sticker Topps didn't put on. May be covering up damage/scratch.

I'll take a shot at it, if it stays cheap. :D

Being non- factory shouldn't it be a 9MK? (Assuming they don't do qualifiers on 10s)

No, they grade unofficially autographed cards like this now. It looks a tad short to me though.

A certified auto isn't considered a Mark. A piece of paper glued to a card should be treated as making the card Authentic; it's just like if you submitted a card still affixed to a scrapbook page.

So by that logic a nice card with a fake autograph could still grade a 10....
Writing is writing no matter who does it.

Not true. A fake auto would be either ungradeable or a MK. Probably ungradeable. A card signed by the player has a special exemption status instead of a qualifier.

PSA is Humpty Dumpty: it is what it is until PSA says otherwise.

In this case it's not just "a sticker" but an official MLB Authentication hologram. Does that have any bearing on it?

The MLB Authentication Database for this hologram number describes the item as:
Item: Autographed Baseball Card
Hologram number JC128132
Event: MLAM Signing - Mike Trout
Date: May 02, 2019
Autographer: Mike Trout
Additional Information: Inscribed Millville Meteor

Not to me. Again, the sticker could be covering up a flaw. To give the card a 10 grade with an aftermarket sticker applied isn't something I agree with.

Lofty predictions. I wonder how long until its relisted from The Vault?
