Great auction, but the most annoying, most user unfriendly website/software/web page ever.

You'll be corrected, Phil. You see the difference?

was thrilled when I saw the amazing material in this auction...but then my heart got ripped out when I realized that I'm in the process of buying/building a new house. Oh well.

The last I looked, the auction has 5,100+ lots...and each one is just amazing! Where did all this material come from? A lot of the cards "fit one another" like they were all once in the hands of a single collector. Do we know who that was?

Not exactly a user friendly auction house. Tried to change my billing address and they want a copy of my drivers license and a copy of the credit card statement for the card I put on file. I have moved a couple of times since the last time I had bid but it shouldn't be that difficult to change an address. Keep in mind that I haven't won the lot that I am wanting to bid on so no money has traded hands yet. Question is how much do I trust them asking for sensitive information in the age of identity theft?

Bpm0014 10-08-2015 09:07 AM

Not user friendly at all. I have tried again. Their website is just the most confusing, jumbled mess ever. I wish it would be more simple.

Once you get used to it it's not as jumbled. It still has a bit too much going on for my tastes but it is what it is. And they certainly have large scans. There are so many lots in the current auction I haven't been able to go through it all yet.

drcy 10-09-2015 01:12 PM

It would be hard for anyone to neatly order 5,000 lots.

Bpm0014 10-09-2015 01:14 PM

You are correct, just a bit too busy. But the auction... Wow is there some killer stuff!

oldjudge 10-09-2015 01:28 PM

I have never had a problem with their web site--I think it is fine, and I like the ability to blow up images. I wish all auction houses had that feature.

autograf 10-09-2015 01:35 PM

Have bid and won many many times and, while it's a little jumbled, you can't beat the scan possibilities like Jay said. Compared to some of the other auction houses out there, they do a fantastic job. They do have occasional hiccups in the fulfillment side of things but with weekly currency, coin, comic, BB and other auctions going on, I guess I could see where things get a little behind.

Heritage

I have always been very pleased with Heritage Auctions. Have bought at least a dozen lots from them and the shipping and customer service has always been top notch. The website is busy for sure but once you et used to it, very easy to navigate. I really enjoy their weekly auctions. Something for everyone and not nearly as high-end as this auction. Very impressive. Very high grade

You can have the gum -- I want those funny green pieces of paper he asked the kids to send to him in January, 1965. (And anyone of this board who wants to send me those funny green pieces of paper are also welcmme to send them to me. :D

(if you never heard of this stunt, there is a great you tube video of him discussing this infamous TV Moment)
