HUGE Score Today!!!!!!!

(I know this belongs in the 'autographs' section, but I had to share it!!!!!)

A precious Ruth is landed!!!!!!
Fought off other less-serious bidders to finally grab it in the end!!! Haven’t ever seen another one like it, so I'll enjoy the hell out of it until the time comes to use it to fund my retirement!!! The sad thing is, though, I can never get all three signatures on it, because Hammerin’ Hank is gone, but what a day!!!!!!!! What a score!!!!!!!!

Hell of an auction. Congrats on the score. Your wallet is definitely fatter than mine and I had to bow out early on the Ruth. I did manage to pick up something for the Cubs collection, though.

Soooo…what am I missing here? Babe Ruth died in 1948…sig on a 1973 card? I’m confused.

You're missing that today is April 1st.

It’s a little late in the day, but check the calendar.

Right. My mom always said I was a little slow.

Wow!

First the T206 proof of Joe Jackson and now this. Great day for pickups.

You give us too much credit Jolly...
Congrats on the pick up, get the guy who signed the Ruth to sign the Hank and Willie and you'll be squared away re; retirement.

That Hubbs card is great. :p Not that the 73 Ruth isn't. Great stuff!

Leon 04-04-2024 04:13 PM

Late to the party but nice effort, Jolly.
The signature reminds me of the guy that was selling a '53 silver certificate, on the autograph side (or he was selling it elsewhere) and had a Ruth signature he thought was good. LOL...Frank something....

Very nice, very clever and sneaky. Hidden within the message like an erased pencil mark on the front of a T206. It's right there in front of you and you don't even notice it.

My mother used to tell me that it was really amazing what I had accomplished in life with all my limitations.

My mother liked to spend Mothers Day alone.

When the doctor told my mother she was pregnant, my mother asked for a second opinion.

My mother told me I was born on Black Friday.

I once got a 95 on a test; my mother told me to make friends with the boy who got the 96 because he's smarter than me.

When I got engaged my mother asked my fiancee why.

No respect, i tell ya, no respect.

Thanks, you've been a great crowd. Enjoy Little River Band.

Reminds me of the famous quote by Abraham Lincoln when he said "You can't believe everything you see on the Internet."

I have had these for a while. They are a couple of my best pickups. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...bc15a45d06.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...fcb1e89b1f.jpg
