I need a scan of a legit T206 with missing red ink
Hey Guys,
I'm writing an article about T206s with "missing red ink" and I need help with a scan or two. I am having no problem at all finding scans of cards that were sold as "missing red ink" but have back damage, adhesive residue, fading or all three. I'd really appreciate it anyone can send me front and back scans of a 100% legit missing red ink card. I'm going to be a little picky. I need the card to be in VG or better with no back issues at all. I'd prefer it not be a Cincinnati player because of how easy it is for the entire card to be faded slightly and the red to be gone. I'm not looking for scrap, since most of these so called "missing red ink" cards are factory cut. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out! |

Thanks Sean but that one has adhesive residue. I snagged this scan from when it sold which shows it better. I really need to find a card with zero issues.

Hey Luke, I also have a HR Baker card that is missing most of the blue ink - the grass is yellow - in case you need it.

Hi Luke
Here is a legitimate Red-Less M. Brown card. http://photos.imageevent.com/tedzan7...g%20Red50x.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/tedzan7...%20Red50xb.jpg TED Z . |
I would start by checking these:

Here are some more T206's that didn't get the Red ink printing pass of the 6-color process.
Thought you may like my ORANGE Cobb (with the "snow flake" effect for this wintry season) :) http://i603.photobucket.com/albums/t...d86/acobb8.jpghttp://photos.imageevent.com/tedzan7...PinlWillis.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/tedzan7...geYellow50.jpg http://i1255.photobucket.com/albums/...BrHINDUx50.jpg http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/d...inghuggins.jpghttp://i529.photobucket.com/albums/d...nklingpink.jpg TED Z . |
Thanks guys. Ted, if you have a scan of the back of Adkins, can you please send it to me? As long as it doesn't have any back issues that one looks promising.

Luke I'm not home at this moment; but, I'm 100% sure that both of these Adkins cards have "clean" PIEDMONT 350 backs. http://photos.imageevent.com/tedzan7...geYellow50.jpg I will send you scans confirming this later tonite. TED Z . |

The guy who came up with the Unglaub Arc!
|
Mark, I've never seen that Unglaub before this. Nice card. :)
|
Thanks guys! That Adkins and Unglaub are awesome. Exactly what I was looking for.
|
Thanks, Sean. One of my favorite T206 cards because I like the laces. Did you notice the orange lips?
|
Luke....
I have had several over the years...I will look for some scans...
:) Sweeney "No B"......Spencer.......and several others |
I see areas of red on that Adkins. Are you sure it isn't faded?

T206 Beaumont Missing Red Ink
1 Attachment(s)
Hi Luke, this is a new interest of mine and I've been pouring through Net45 for information regarding these color variants; specifically as others on Net45 have already discussed (a) what is truly missing red ink (b) what is faded from prolonged direct sunlight (c) and what is chemical exposure from glue adhesive or solvents. Fascinating stuff! With that said I just picked up my first color variation card which I believe to be missing red ink. Have you ever come across a similar Beaumont card?

Here's my Beaumont, with a regular one for comparison. I've seen a couple others as well:

When I get home I'll post some scans of a really nice Kleinow With Bat missing the red ink pass on his hat. I also have another of his cards with the red ink but with the color shifted so you can see the nice clean yellow hat he's actually wearing under that red ink pass.
|
Here are my two Kleinow With Bat cards missing the red ink. I also added a scan with the yellow showing under the red ink.

I just got this color-challenged Tinker. I'm including a normal Tinker for comparison. The card is missing red - either from fading or from being printed that way. What's more interesting is the back. It seems to have faded as well. I don't see any paper loss or damage from glue, but it is so faded that the Factory line is gone.
I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts as to how this happens. Attachment 277676 Attachment 277677 |

Sean I actually bid on that Tinker, as I too was intrigued by how it presented. Is this a true color variant? With both front and back "faded" as they are maybe that suggests it is a true variant. Great card and always such intrigue with these unusual 206s! I'm curious what your thoughts are on this Speaker. The research I've done seems to suggest that maybe it's not an actual "missing red ink" variant but a printing anomaly. Could there have been two separate red color passes and/or printing plates for this particular card? Seems odd but plausible I guess.

Missing red is an odd thing, as there are cards "missing red" deliberately.
mostly in the 350's Like Dygert that comes with red lips or not. The ones with deliberately missing red aren't necessarily rare at all. The ones where it's missing by mistake are, and in any cases should be missing one other color as well. |
