DDDAAAYYYYUUUUMMM! Look at that hand cut gem! The pic was probably taken a new iPhone. The clarity and crispness is just magnificent.

Keep looking it gets better. Amazing none of his PSA graded cards are in slabs...

He could at least label his listing correctly. His, ahem, original Cracker Jack Wagner is a 1914. Wow. He has some serious balls.

Aquarian Sports Cards 06-01-2018 07:13 PM

Look at the collins he's calling a T205

ctownboy 06-01-2018 09:16 PM

The seller is from Alabama. Maybe the Battlefield boys can help them out.

...and he's been a 'member' since October, 2011...those DOVERs must be scarce in 'Bama.

He didn't even erase the Dover Reprint on the Lajoie.

Seller lists this as a 1959 signed card. I sent them a message. This is beyond ridiculous

If am looking at it right it.. It doesn't look like that account was used for over a year before all these recent garbage listings. That makes me wonder if it's a hacked account.

That was my thought...or someone did some 'drunk listing'

“VERY RARE signed Tim McCarver catcher of the Phillies” he states in the description. Doesn’t look like anyone has bid on anything yet. So if it’s not a hacked account, maybe that’ll convince him to give up and crawl back under his rock.

I think drunk listing is pretty much the same as drunk buying or drunk posting..... When you are drunk it's all the same.

The more I look at his listings, this has to be a joke of some sort. Nobody can be that stupid. Can they?

Rhotchkiss 06-02-2018 08:08 AM

Not that it matters, but my gut is "he" is a "she", based on the username starting with "amy". And, the cards are so blatantly reprints, incorrectly described, etc that I have to assume this is a child taking a first shot on ebay. I dont think there is anything malicious about this seller -- I think its just a child or someone of that capacity; it must be (its that bad). Of course, that does not excuse the fact that these items are being sold in a grown up forum and someone could get taken, but if anyone gets taken by this seller, then they deserve it.

It could happen pretty easily if they list it by searching eBay for the card and then select the sell similar option without then editing the title.

LOL

There are a couple of cards there that are worth the $0.99 minimum bid but how could you trust the guy (or gal)?

Scott, the listings are sooo absurd that it must be a kid or someone with diminished mental capacity. Or it’s just a pure experiment. There is no way this a sincere effort by a con-person seeking success.

BosseFieldBoy 06-02-2018 09:38 AM

I can't understand why everyone's making fun of the listing. This is the super rare perforated edge variation with an equally rare Polar Bear mistakenly spelled Sovereign back. Possibly 1/1. I would list it at $2 million.

A "sincere effort by a con person" as opposed to an insincere one? :) A bit out of focus too..If you are going to sell crap at least have clear pics of it!!

I was not good at grammar, but I believe the effort can be sincere even though the con man is necessarily insincere. I actually think I may have stumbled on, and you pointed out, an unintended, wise phrase- something that Mark Twain could have said....

I wasn't making fun of your grammar at all, mine sucks. It was only a funny thing to hear, "a sincere con person." I have to imagine any good one is sincere. Nothing worse than a bad con man. :)
