Posted By: dannyboy
I have a Ty Cobb card. On the back is printed C/B Bread, below that Clement's Pies and below that Clement Bros. Rochester, N.Y. Any info on this card set would be greatly appreciated.

Posted By: Old
Sorry I wasn't able to post my card, but I haven't figured out how to do that. Anyway the pic has been posted by someone else. My card is in worse shape. Is there a publication or website that lists the entire D380 series and other bakery card sets and the like? Thanks.

Posted By: Glen V
The Old Cardboard Site (link at the top of the vintage board, or http://www.oldcardboard.com/ ) has lists of all the bread cards, as well as others. Click the D-Cards link, then the Clements Bros Bread link and it shows both years/types of Clement Bread (1909 D380-1 Oval, 1910 D380 Square). The site say there are 8 oval cards, but I think there are 6 know, plus 8 square ones.

The Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards would have lists of the bread cards, plus most others. Fairly cheap from amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0873499913/qid=1125475321/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/002-8234445-3103213?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

Posted By: Dannyboy
Thanks for the info. I signed up for Borders e-mails a while ago. They send me coupons periodically. Yesterday went down with my 30% off coupon and bought the 2006 Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards. Had to pay tax, but Amazon wanted extra shipping $ because of size and weight of this book, so I think I came out slightly ahead even though I had to pay tax. Moral of story: I'm glad I signed up for Borders e-mails.

Posted By: Glen V
A few issues keep getting dropped every year, but quite a few issues (esp. postcards/cabinets) have been added. Lots of 50/60/70's team issues have disappeared the last few years, plus some individual card issues (think the '36 Block Brothers St. Louis Postcard was pulled). Also Peck & Snyders (this one baffles a number of board members). It would be nice if each new catalog would list what was removed from the previous one. Better yet, list everything and condense the modern and post-70 minor league sections.

Posted By: dannyboy
Thanks to all those who responded to my query about the ty cobb clement bros. bread card. As you might imagine, I received a number of offers for the card. I decided to auction the card off at robertedwardauctions.com. The current auction is now taking place on the site and card itself is on page 9. If any are still interested in buying the card, you can bid on it now.

thanks again
