That time when eBay cancels your bid...
Hosers!!!!
Had a high bid placed on a nice T3 cabinet and then I got the email from our friends at eBay. Asta lavista baby. Rant over |
Why?!

I think there is an important part of that rant missing.

No reason given
No reason given. Looked at the bid history link like the email instructed and nothing there. Woohoo for eBay
|
Seller probably canceled the auction.

That's a little douchey |
Happened to me last week. I had the high bid on a Green Portrait TY Cobb under $1,000 and poof!! It was gone.

eBay
I have not had a bid cancelled but have on numerous occasions been notified a snipe had been cancelled because the auction had ended. Never sure if seller sold off line or was worried bids nearing the end were not up to his expectations. At one time if there were no bids I would place a low bid pending the snipe to make it less likely the item would be withdrawn...but that did not seem to have much benefit.

Ebay has jumped the shark.

It is still very much the only place to actively seek what you are looking for and find with nominal speed. I am not the wealthiest of collectors and I have very little activity on the Auction circuit so often times unless its in the B/S/T section on this site, its EBAY to the rescue. I hate Ebay as much as the next guy, but without it I would never have been able to get into T206 collecting. I mean, how many folks do you think actively sell or trade a hundred and seven year old baseball cards in Rural North Louisiana?? It is a necessary evil that I will have to deal with until other alternatives arrive.
