Who's Who in Major League Baseball 1936 question
I recently picked up this copy of Johnson's 1936 Who's Who with the original shipping box. As can be seen, it does not have a dust jacket. Has anyone ever seen a 1936 edition with a dust jacket? Over the last twenty years of book collecting, I have seen at least 50 copies of this edition, all without dust jacket, and every other edition of the Who's Who has one, including the larger size beautiful 1933 edition which started this set. As for the book I just bought, it seems strange the owner would keep the shipping box, but not the dust jacket.
Thanks, Max http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...x85/026-26.jpg 1933 edition with dj http://farm1.static.flickr.com/46/13...275c61a2ba.jpg |
Hi Max- wish I knew the answer, but I don't. The later years that were printed with soft covers are pictorial. That ususally, but not always, suggests they weren't issued with a dj. But I never collected these so it's a guess.

The later years were also printed in hard cover. I haven't been actively collecting them in dust jacket, but all were printed with a dust jacket. 1936 is strange because it appears quite often. As well, Speed seems to have signed every other copy Max |
There were two different Who's Whos and I think I am confusing them. As I said, I never collected these.
