C.1932 Babe Ruth World Series Blank Back Real Photo Premium? Postcard?

Anyone have any more info on this Ruth real photo card? It's blank backed and postcard size on card stock. Glossy front. Sepia toned.

All I've seen as far as info/cataloguing is from Ron Menchine's Baseball Postcard Collection book. One of these cards is featured on the front cover of the book. On page 72. Menchine calls it a real photo premium postcard (photo from Wrigley field v. Cubs 1932 W.S.)

Anyone have one of these or know anyone who does? Or know anything more on who issued it, with what, etc?

I saw the one on the vintageball website http://www.vintageball.com/WhatsThis.html

They speculate there that it may have come with and without a postcard reverse. Maybe a promo or give away with something soon after the world series? Possibly a newspaper premium? Just guesses

On vintage ball they call it a real-photo-premium or postcard.

Any info appreciated.

Does not come with a postcard back despite being included in the Menchine book.

I do believe it is period. Also comes in a larger standard photo size.

I've owned both before and in my opinion they are hobby hidden gems and very undervalued considering the beauty and rarity.

Thanks for info Jeff. Photo is like an 8x10 is size? Is it glossy? Cardstock or thinner like a paper supplement?

Same image as the 1948 RKO Theatres Babe Ruth premium: Link

Glossy, 8x10 if I recall, and same stock as the smaller postcard sized photo. A little thicker than photo stock and a little thinner than traditional PC stock if I recall.

It seems odd that the RKO image removed the Ruth signature. I wonder why?

Very cool, never seen one of those.

Here is my example that I recently purchased while in Atlantic City.

Similar to what Erick posted above -- postcard size, sepia toned glossy front and a blank back. The card stock and toning definitely seem right in hand FWIW.

Can anyone provide any additional information on this somewhat "mysterious" piece?
