Posted By: Andy Cook
Today, thanks to a trade with a board member, I received the last two T210 series 2s I needed to complete the 87 card set! It took over 9 years to gather these cards one by one. Many of these cards came in trades with board members. Thanks to all who helped.

My T213-2 quest continues, down to 12, again through the help of many board members. Please let me know if you have any you'd like to swap so I can put that set to bed after a similar elapsed time.

Andy

edited title to be a little more specific

Posted By: V117Collector
9 Years, Wow! Now what are you going to do with the set, I mean are you putting if up for auction or keep the set for anther 9 years?

When I finish my Maple set I most likely will sell and start a new set, maybe 1927 honey boy.

Posted By: Andy Cook
Thanks, I'm going to keep these. They look great in the album. With the help of this board and ebay, I've been able to knock 9 T213-2s off my list just since January 1st.

Andy

Posted By: Frank Wakefield
Congratulations, Andy.

Most of the sets out there can be completed if you just throw money at the cards. But that isn't necessarily true with T210s. A buyer with piles of money still has to happen across the cards. And my impression is that each card in a T210 series isn't necessarily as plentiful as any other card in that series, it seems to me that some cards are more scarce than others.

So putting together that series 2 is a significant accomplishment.

Frank W.

Posted By: Jay
Great job Andy. As someone who also collects T210s I can echo Frank's words. Although there were a few large groups in some recent auctions, these cards are difficult to find and completing even one series is a real accomplishment. Why not start on another T210 series? Series 3 is very challenging and it has Rogers Hornsby's brother and some scarce orange border cards.

Posted By: martindl

Congrats Andy and good luck on your new venture.

Your post is very helpful to me as it has helped reset my expectations around patience - i'm only trying to put together a T210-1 Columbus team set, not even the full series, and thought that would be fairly easy. It hasn't been, but i've only been at it about a year but am still two cards shy.

My take away - patience pays off, eventually.
