Sept 30, 1971 Senators Yankees
Last game in DC before the franchise moves to Texas. Washington is leading 7 to 5 with the Yankees up with two out top of 9. Disgruntled fans storm the field and the Senators forfeit the game.
Looking at the boxscore I see the stats count . Are there no winning and losing pitchers? |
According to retrosheet, there were no winning or losing pitchers because the Yankees won the game despite the final score being 7 to 5 in favor of the Senators....if that makes sense.

Oops, Barry's got your answer - of course, Paul Lindblad should have been the winning pitcher and Jack Aker should have been the loser. I believe I can state for sure than no performance bonuses were affected. LOL - |
Barry is right

I have an audio recording of this game. Seems Washington was not happy to see the team go, especially Frank Howard.
