Need some help with info about the Cleveland International show

Posted By: Bob
Any opinions or news would be helpful here. I am thinking about possibly going and wondered if anyone has heard anything about how many dealer tables, etc. might be there. Thanks.

Posted By: Matt E.
I will be attending the show all of the days from the 15th to the 18th. I heard there will be about 400+ tables set up. There will also be tons of celebrities and signers at the show.

http://www.internatlconv.com/

Matt
Posted By: Mike H
From the description it sounds like this will be more of an autograph fest for celebs and athletes than a serious quality sports memorabilia show. Will any of the big boys be setting up at this?

Posted By: Matt E.
The International (June 15-18) is 6 weeks before the National, which is July 27-30, and all of the major vintage dealers, grading companies, and auction houses will be attending and exhibiting.
Hope this helps.
Posted By: Jimmy Z.
Matt, you seem to have a good idea of what is going on. Can you fill us in on why this international stole the website from the national and what transpired in the last year so that we now have two shows? I know I'm not going to be attending the international and Im sure that "all of the major dealers and grading companies" will be interested to know that they are being required to attend. From what I've heard none of them are coming. I'm sure GAI will show up, but that will probably only be to get Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine's ever elusive autograph.

Jimmy

Posted By: John S
I plan to attend as I live only 30 miles from Cleveland. Its promoted as more of a carnival atmosphere than a card show, but even if there are 20 dealers from the 400 tables dealing vintage it will be worth the trip. As far as grading companies, I had only heard that GAI will be in attendance...any info regarding PSA or SGC?

Need some help with info about the Cleveland International show

Posted By: Shawn Adkins
Given the history of what transpired (from previous threads a while back) with the website hijaak and blatent duplication that the International show has taken from the National, I'd be interested to get more information about the actual show. In my mind, if you are going for cards then I think you will be disapointed.

As for tables, there is no comparison -- assuming that they even fill them all.
National: http://www.nsccshow.com/images/AnaheimFloorPlan.pdf
International: http://www.internatlconv.com/images/Intl%20Floor%20Plan%2021506.pdf

I come up with just over 300 tables and the site has nothing to say about sports cards at this show. All of the links for information (if they even have substance) are for last years National show. I'll be this is just a cheap way to get people through the door. I highly doubt that there will be much there in the way of cards. Unless the dealers who signed up for the International by mistake were not able to reverse their reservations.

Maybe I'm wrong but I wouldn't consider going to this show or whatever they are calling it now. The whole thing sounds shady. If it's so great then why is there no content dedicated to what this show will deliver? Aside from the very front page, there is nothing else there. Three months ago I expected details to be sparce but one month away...

Shawn
