1954 Mickey Mantle Stahl-Meyer Card

Does anyone know anything about these? I have been told that it is much more scarce than the original, as it is a "proof".
My research on the internet and on e-bay, has yielded no results, so I am inclined to think it is extremely scarce.
My research did bring me to this site, where I found some discussions regarding the 1953-1955 regular issue versions of the card, but unless I am mistaken, I didn't find anything regarding the "proof".
I am trying to get an idea of what it might bring at one of the nice auction houses. Hate to sell it, but.... sometimes you have to let go,,,
I know these are condition sensitive, this one just has a very minor stain (you have to look pretty hard to see it), and the card itself is very nice condition considering the age and delivery systems used to distribute the card.
Thanks in advance for any responses to this. I really appreciate the info.
I have many other rare cards as well, and as my curiosity gets aroused, I will find myself once again probing for more info :

Download the tap talk app and then find this site and add a photo. Easy to do it that way if you are using a phone.

How long have you had the card?

Where did you obtain it?

gulp

For some reason, the 1954 is more difficult to find than the 1953 or 1955. I don't think it was a proof though and not sure the reason for the scarcity.

As for yours, I'm about 99% certain it is fake. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Hope your other cards are real.

That can't be it.....

Too much wrong with this card. For starters, those filed down corners are screaming fake.

ullmandds 01-19-2018 05:09 AM

Ya...thats a bad fake.

Looks like a piece of poopoo to me.

BTW, this isn't a pre-wwII card and should go in a different section in the future...

In his defense, there is no clear place to put it :). It's a 1954 card but wasn't produced until 2018. Should it go in the Vintage or Modern side.....

He didn't know it wasn't produced in 1954. *But good point otherwise.

Not too mention there is no advertisement on the back which is the only way you can tell the difference between a 54 and 55

And, why is there road rash on just one side?

I think the blank back versions were printed in 2017 as reprints!!

Orioles1954 01-19-2018 01:17 PM

Not even a good fake.

This card more than likely was purchased from the site that is well known for selling these type of custom/counterfeit cards. In the drop down "select an option" part "aged" or "antiqued" was chosen.
