Help identify Piedmont pack and Dixie Cig card

Posted By: Kelly
I'm trying to identify the Era of this Piedmont cigarette pack. It does have some paper loss as you can see in the scan, but no dates present. I'm trying to narrow down whether it was during the tobacco card era. Any help identifying this would be appreciated along with any ideas on its value. It does have cigarettes inside, but I have not tried to open completely. I am fairly certain there is no card inside.

Also have a Dixie cigarettes card that I have had in my collection for 25+ years, but have not had this type of a forum to help identify. I know there are many avid collectors who are on this board that could help. The size is about 1 7/16 X 2 9/16. I am not certain , but one local collector thinks the photo may be of female ball players. Again any help would be appreciated.

Thanks again in advance for your help.

Posted By: Jon Canfield
Although exact dating of the pack will be a little tough, it is certainly 1911 or later. The ATC did not get split into Liggett and Meyers (and the others) until the anti-trust action (first begun in 1907) started concluding in 1911. Since you pack displays L&M markings on the front, it would have to be at least from 1911.

This link is a couple years old and your photos are long gone but in addition to being N508 they also could be N48.
